Trio Extravaganza!!!!
"Just chillin'" with Dame Dash may have just spawned a rap supergroup project. On Wednesday, at Dash's new facility (art gallery, TV studio, music studio and more), DD172, critically acclaimed underground lyricist Curren$y told MTV News that he, Jay Electronica and Mos Def have combined forces to start recording an entire album together.
"That's ridiculous!" Curren$y said. "Jay Electronica is from my city, he's from New Orleans. I never met homie until I stepped foot in this building. He came here to meet Mos. And Mos, I had only known him for 24 hours prior to that. But genuine people could recognize [each other], it was like, 'Let's go.' "
Curren$y said Mos came up with the name of "Center Edge Territory" for the trio. When asked exactly what the moniker means, Curren$y would only comment emphatically, "Everything! That's everything!
Mos Def Curren$y and Jay Electronica making a group and may create the best trio EVER!!!! I don't know Electronica's music to well but Mos and Curren$y alone would be awesome!!!
"We all know the game is in turmoil. We know the machine messed it up," he added, explaining why they will be putting their music out independently instead of with a major label. "We know we don't even need to play that game, especially with access to all of this sh--. We are our own machine."
So far, Center Edge Territory have recorded six records together, but they have no concrete plans as to when the full-length album will drop.
"The funny thing, it came from just chilling," Dash said. "If you're gonna be here [at DD172], there's no hanging out.
"There's no reason to be here unless you have the ability to work or you're working," Dash explained of the space Mos nicknamed of the "24-Hour Karate School." "This is like an office where you work in a different way."
Dash is putting out BlakRoc by the Black Keys (featuring collaborations with Mos Def, Jim Jones, Q-Tip, Ludacris, RZA and others) on November 27. Meanwhile, Curren$y just completed an album with a group he formed called the Muscle Car Chronicles, which includes Thomas Pridgen from the Mars Volta and newcomer Sean O'Connell.

People Who Should Be Famous!!!

With my last two post i realized there have been many of my favorite rappers who spit some hot shit but never really got their shine. So I'm gonna make a little list of people I've been listening for awhile, but who never got the great break they deserved
Starting With those who jut missed my list:
Curt@ins, BLU, Wale & Gemstones: they all spit hot fire but i haven't heard them long enough or enough songs to validate them as consistent, but what they Do drop is pretty tough!!!
SHIT i forgot TYGA, so I'll put him here. He's just full of swagger and great lyrics. He has that presence that a rapper needs and the talent to go with it. AND WHO EVER I FORGOT, SORRY!!!

10. GLC- Slow rhythmic style, and being In Kanye's Crew doesn't hurt too much

9. Kardinal Offishall: Gained a little of exposure with songs like Set it Offishall, Numba 1 and Gimme Some, but the Canadian rapper shows there was rap up there a little before Drake

8. Jae Millz: He is best known for his appearance on making the band (where he murdered ness), but the Harlem rapper has been on his grind for he longest killing freestyles and mixtapes alike. Hopefully Young Money can get him Shine.

7. Mad Skillz: The man best known for his yearly rap ups has been killing the streets for quite some time now, but the record labels are showing him NOOOO love.

6. 88-Keys: this guy is just extraordinary. he raps produces and has one of the best polo collections since Ralph Lauren. But it seems his eclectic style just isn't making a great impression just yet, but in time hopefully he's recognized for his greatness.
Rest After the Jump!!!

5. Consequence: The cousin of Q-Tip shows that sometimes it does tun in the family. Cons is just super smooth on the tracks and the subject matter is actually worth speaking about!!!! Be on look out for his album coming soon!!!

4. Curren$y: I feel the worst for the Hot Spitta, because he was down with Young Money right when it was blowing up, and surprisingly he got dropped (he was even on No Limit when they were hot too!!). The dude has immaculate flow and he is o freaking RAW!!!! I'd invest heavy chips on dude.

3. Chromeo: One of the best duo's ever presented, has to be the electronic Dave-1 and P-Thug who are known collectively as Chromeo. There music is mad funky and Dave-1 is a great singer, it's kind of music makes you want to get up and dance. Defiantly worth a listen to switch up your playlist.

2. Cassidy: he did get a little bit of fame when he was down with Swizz Beats Full Surface, but not the kind he needed. This dude has some of the best punchlines ever, and has proclaimed himself the originator of the punchline flow. AND I BELIEVE HIM!!! He has shown his diversity by being able to make hit singles and lyrical content too. Get on his mixtape shit

1. JR Writer: Finally I've made it to one of my favorite artist for like the last 5 years, JR motherfucking WRITER. He is just pure piffery, his music is just great. He doesn't do mainstream stuff, but he kills the underground and mixtape scene. His consistency second to none and he deserves at least a little glimmer of shine!!!
